Sawtooth tyres Review.

The Sawtooth is a new tyre from Specialized’s adventure gear product line. They’re tubeless ready and offered in a whopping 700x42c size for all  road/gravel adventure. After fitting them to the Tripster I put a set of vernier caliper on them they came in at 700x43 - 1.7” That's close to 29er territory.

The name is taken from the tread pattern it uses a inverse zigzagging chevron pattern running across the casing, not only looking cool but offers up heaps of grip when on the rough stuff. The compound they are using is Specilized’s Gripton rubber compound allowing for incredible grip with low rolling resistance this has been combined with Specialized’s Endurant reinforced casing so it can really take a beating.

Now you all know my reason for buying a big old tyre like this. With my trip down to Malta drawing closer by the day i need something hardy and ready to take a beating.

The down sides, this tyre does drag if you are used to a 700x23 or 25, but this tyres isn't for the racers or the weekend worriers. It’s for the weekend riders who want comfort on every day british roads, it’s for the adventurous, the gravel grinder and the fireroad fanatic.

I can't honestly give this any less than a 5/5 I knew that they would drag more when I bought them. If you’re bike can take a 42mm tyre and you want comfort, smooth rolling and grip on even the muddiest of back lanes this is an investment you don’t want to miss.

Side effects include but not limited too while riding these:
Uncontrollable laughter in the middle of nowhere at anytime ( found I’ve done this alot.)
Not bothering to look at a map before getting lost ( I bought these tyres for this)
Not looking at your cell phone, gps, because you are having wayy too much fun!
Thinking your on a 29er
Forgetting what time it is
Not taking gravel riding serious

Trying to find the north star

As always Keep spinning.
